A Fierce Defender of Constitutional Rights
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Joseph G. Tesmond has called Miami home since 1982. After graduating from Valparaiso University in Indiana that same year, he went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 1986, launching a career in criminal defense that has spanned more than 35 years.
Joseph began his legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in Miami, where he spent 12 years honing his trial skills across every level of criminal defense. During his tenure, he served as a Felony Division Training Attorney in an office of over 200 attorneys, mentoring and guiding the next generation of public defenders in the art of courtroom advocacy.
Since 1998, Joseph has been the owner of Joseph G. Tesmond, P.A., his own private criminal defense practice. His extensive trial experience ranges from DUI cases to homicide, and includes drug trafficking and possession, money laundering, white collar crimes, mortgage fraud, racketeering, Medicare and Medicaid fraud, insurance fraud, weapons violations, and robbery.
Joseph fights hard to protect the constitutional rights of every client he represents. He believes that every person deserves a vigorous defense, and he handles each client and case personally on an individual basis. His philosophy centers on the conviction that early professional representation is key to achieving the best possible resolution in any criminal matter.
